Freaky Friday

WTF???
Glenn Close
Well minions the Oscars are this weekend and E! Online decided to run images of this years nominated stars from their first Academy Award red carpet attendance.

In the immortal words of George Takei a Freaky Friday "Oh My" shout out goes to Best Actress nominee for "The Wife" Glenn Close for her total clueless lack of style in this WTF?! number she wore for her first evuh Oscar nomination in the Supporting Actress category for The World According To Garp.

Seriously, who the Hell dressed her in this hideous frock??? Even more seriously, how could she waltz down the red carpet not knowing how ghastly it truly is? I ask you? Gimme an answer now please!

Judging from her appearances on the Award circuit of late Ms. Close has certainly evolved in the style department and will be hitting the red carpet and looking fab not drab this Sunday.

You go Glenn Close!

Slow Burn - Michelle Pfeiffer

What A Mother!
Michelle Pfeiffer

Enigmatic actress Michelle Pfeiffer has returned with a cinematic blast in Mother! A film which is an either love it, or hate it proposition (I loved it!) -

Michelle has had an illustrious career with three Academy Award nominations to prove it. One for Supporting Actress in Dangerous Liasons. Two for Best Actress in The Fabulous Baker Boys & Lovefield. Michelle made a total impact in her heyday.

Well that heyday is back!

Her performance in the film is a sly, darkly funny, slow burn. She plays a fabulous game in it. Thus here is what I propose. Since her three co-stars Jennifer Lawrence, Javier Bardem & Ed Harris have all one Oscars and Pfeiffer has not, let's start a movement for her to finally receive one for Mother!

A Supporting Actress statue bestowed upon Michelle for a performance that to me stole the movie. Don't get me wrong as stated above I loved the whole thing, but Michelle Pfeiffer, Michelle Pfeiffer, Michelle Pfeiffer was the foremost thing that I was thinking of when I emerged into the light from the darkened theater.

Dear Paramount, get the buzz for this to happen. Do it and do it now!!!

"The Help" Reunion

Can We Help?
l-r Octavia Spence, Emma Stone & Viola Davis
Since this Sunday is Oscar Sunday and all three of these ladies are up for an Academy Award, I thought this was a fitting image for the Friday leading into the hallowed event.

Here we have Octavia Spencer, Emma Stone and Viola Davis at the 2017 nominees luncheon. Yes, the cast members from The Help are reunited and it felt so good.

Spencer posted the photo op on her Instagram with this caption:

"Today was so fun it felt like graduation. Especially seeing my #HelpAlums. Congrats to all nominees especially these two!!"

Pretty cool that three women who shared an experience all all up for the Big "O" this year.

While I'm at it let me state Viola Davis is a shoo in for supporting actress for her work in Fences and Emma Stone is my personal favorite (and is predicted to win by many) for best actress in La La Land.

Congratulations you three and have fun Sunday

Critics, Boobies & Hayden Panettiere

The Mighty Hayden Panetierre

As well all know by now, Hayden Panettiere of the hit series Nashville has been, like her alter ego on the show Juliette Barnes, suffering from postpartum depression.

While this is not something to laugh at, it looks like Hayden is on the upswing. She made a rare red carpet appearance looking radiant for the 2016 Critic's Choice Awards. She was nominated for Best Supporting Actress on a Drama Series

OK, while I should not make light of this, when we all look at this image we are all collectively thinking: Boobies, boobies, boobies!

Seriously, WOW! Hayden is a petite young woman standing a mighty 5 feet. Looks like despite all of her rounds in the postpartum ring, birth becomes her.

Cheers Ms. Panettiere, to your health, happiness and well deserved nomination!
