Thank God It's Friday The 13th!

Happy Friday The 13th! As you can see Jason Vorhees has his Friday The 13th weekend plans, what are yours?

Mine? I'm hanging out with my friend Scott, were going to celebrate with pizza & wine and a Friday The 13th Marathon on in the background. while we toast, talk and nosh.

Anyway, starting my Friday The 13th off with the gym and a haircut before hand.

Then I will most likely settle in and watch whatever Friday The 13th movie I find playing while channel surfing until Scott arrives for the official celebration.

Michael's Musings

Is It Safe?
Michael Shinafelt
Last night like all good horror fans should, I watched the premiere of American Horror Story: 1984. It's off to a great start, every 80's slasher film cliche is intact and used. I especially like the references to other slasher epics in it...i.e. hitting a man in the middle of the road on the way to the summer camp (I Know What You Did Last Summer) The mental patients all escaped and roaming the grounds of the asylum (Halloween) or the pretty much exact replica of Camp Crystal Lake from Friday the 13th now christened Camp Redwood.

Hopefully the premiere continues to deliver on it's promise...

Although I know it's stuffing, who can resist a hung guy with a pornstache? I bring you Matthew Morrison in American Horror Story: 1984!!!

Friday The 13th

Ride Hard
Madonna
Today is the day of superstition & Jason Vorhees, in other words break out the black cats and machetes and have yourself a Kiki!

Me on the other hand I like to ride my bicycle, I want to ride it where I like...so I'm gonna make like Madonna seen here pedaling down the streets of London and hit the asphalt on my two wheeler.

Friday the 13th nonsense be damned, nothing is going to rain on this guy's parade. Seriously nothing is, there is zero percent chance of rain today in sunny Los Angeles, we are currently being held hostage by a heatwave after all.

Time to hit the shower and get my ride on!

Happy Friday the 13th... "Ki, ki, ki, ma, ma, ma"

Money Monster: Cannes, Cannes, Cannes

l-r Amal, George, Julia & Jodie
in Cannes
In case you have been distracted by other things the 2016 Cannes Film Festival has been happening and a movie with the title Money Monster played it and opened this past Friday.

No,I have yet to see it. Yes, it is on my list of films to do. Hey it stars George Clooney & Julia Roberts with Jodie Foster at the helm. Yeah, that puts it in "must see" territory for me.

So, I said to myself: Let's kick off the post Friday the 13th weekend with a really hot image of the trio and Clooney's catch of a wife Amal to start Monday the 16th off on a too cool note.

According to my favorite film buff Erik Rimmer

"Money Monster was a great film. I loved it. Tight direction and very suspenseful . Julia Roberts and George Clooney were fantastic."

Bask, it's Monday. Enjoy your week!!!

FBF: Welcome To Camp Crystal Lake...

"Kill her, Mommy! Kill her! Don't let her get away, Mommy! Don't let her live!"
- Pamela Voorhees

Since I participated in Throwback Thursday yesterday, because, well it was Thursday, duh, I thought I would take the opportunity to engage in Flashback Friday, ya know, since it's Friday the 13th after all.

Think back to the year 1980 when the original Friday the 13th movie was released at the height of the slasher film craze. At what point was that in your life? Me? I was a Freshman in High School, be nice now.

I was too young to get in to see it solo and no one would take me. So I had to wait for home video. What I do remember was it upped the ante in terms of graphic killings on screen.

The story of  doomed counselors at the now legendary Camp Crystal Lake aka Camp Blood had critics recoiling and audiences shrieking!

Everyone in school who had been able to see it was a buzz about it describing the bloody deaths of the camp staff with a perverse glee.

When I finally got around to seeing it, the horror movie that raised the bar had been surpassed by others post it.

The original Friday the 13th is now considered a horror classic because of it's influence on the genre. Something I know at the time was never contemplated of happening.

It remains one of my favorites of a specific place and time in cinema, because, in case you haven't guessed it "Yes"I love a good scare...Boo! Happy Friday the 13th!

Check out the trailer for the original Friday the 13th after the jump!

Margaret Cho Goes "Grasshopper"

"Sexual abuse, becomes self abuse if you don't murder the rapist inside you" - Margaret Cho

Margaret Cho stated on her recent appearance on The View that she wants you to "snatch the pebble from my hand" for those of you who don't know the TV classic Kung Fu, well Grasshopper you have much to learn...that's why Wikipedia was invented.

Yes, Cho has sheared her hair for her video I Want To Kill My Rapist which debuts tomorrow, Friday the 13th on PerezHilton.com.

The song is about people expressing their views and ridding themselves of their anger against all types of sexual abuse. As Margaret puts it: "Cathartic rage has to have voice."

Watch the clip from Margaret's appearance on The View below.

Looking forward to seeing you again at The Wiltern in Los Angeles, CA Saturday the 14th Margaret, it's been too long.

The Good Wife: Bye, Bye, Bye Kalinda Sharma

I Will Miss Kalinda
Tonight is an all new The Good Wife, in my humbled opinion one of the best shows on TV.
As most fans know Kalinda Sharma, played by the great Archie Panjabi, days are numbered.

Well Ms. Panjabi got her Tweet on with this message on Friday the 13th:
"I took down the name sign from my dressing room today! Not long to go!"

Panjabi's contract ends in May. She's already lined up a new gig to star in a yet-to-be-determined pilot for 20th Century Fox TV. Although I will miss Kalinda, I will watch Archie in anything.

Unlike Josh Charles who played Will Gardner, this exit will not be shocking and not handled the same way I am sure. However I do suspect it will have something to do with Lemond Bishop.

Also sorry to fellow The Good Wife Fans, Will's departure was a relief for me.

May The Good Wife be with you, at: https://www.facebook.com/TheGoodWife

Mama Maria Approves of Miley & Patrick

Too Much Cuteness!
It's Friday the 13th, T.G.I.F. and all that jazz. Love is in the air it seems that Miley Cyrus and Patrick Schwarzenegger are getting very serious.

Patrick's sister Katherine stated to Extra"I think they're adorable," so do I Katherine "If my brother's happy, I'm happy and that's all that matters to me. You just want your sibling to be happy, if they're with someone who makes them happy and in a happy healthy relationship then I'm happy."

Most importantly Mama Maria Shriver, a woman who I respect for many reasons really thinks Ms. Cyrus is a terrific girl and approves of the deepening bond between Miley and her son.

Now THAT is a seal of approval! You go you two!

Can't Retouch This! Cindy Crawford

Cindy Crawford: Just Say No To Retouching
An un-retouched image of one Ms. Cindy Crawford has been circulating the Internet since Friday the 13th.
I just caught it this ayem online. One werd...Hot!

Marie Claire magazine which commissioned the shot that the leaked photo came from confirmed it's authenticity by stating: "It's real and it is gorgeous."

Obviously I concur. Cindy has always been one of my favorite supermodels not only because of her beauty, she also has a down to earth accessibility to her. A warm personality and a brain to go with it.

So nice to see how she really looks with out all the smoke and mirrors.

Hey Cindy, you should never be retouched, just sayin'...
